FURY THWARTED In Division Two, EMCs Pietro Sgueglia dashed New York Furys hopes of cutting into idle New York Croatias lead with a stoppage time equalizer in a 2-2 draw at McCarren Park. The 91st minute goal completed a brace for the highly rated forward whose side played with ten men for the last 30 minutes. The double strike brought Sgueglias season tally to 11. Overa ll a disappointing result in a game we should have won, said EMCs Danny Peters. EMC are 4-2-3 [15], ten points adrift of Croatia with a game in hand, while Fury are now five off the pace but have played one match more than the Croatians. RED STORM Earlier at McCarren Park, Zach Kelly [two] and Ilija Zlatar propelled Central Park Rangers Red past Ukrainians 3-0. CELTIC ROUT John Tanios, Alex Avelleho [two] and Tony Semar scored in the Manhattan Celtic reserves 4-0 rout of Croatia B at Pier 40. CLARKSTOWN PEGGED Quick starting Clarkstown stuttered down the stretch in a 2-2 tie with Ridgewood Romac at Evander Childs High School Early goals by John Simone [off an Andre Brown cross] and Anthony DiMuccio had them 2-0 up. But the upstate visitors would leave the Bronx regretting several missed chances after Dani Anton [pen.] and Gabriel had pegged them back. The second half we missed about seven good chances four of which were only with the keeper to beat. It was a frustrating day to say the least, said Justin Koblish.
