Below are the field locations and directions.

 Randall's Island

The park is located in the East River below the Triborough Bridge, adjacent to East Harlem in Manhattan, the South Bronx, and Astoria, Queens.

Subway/Bus: Take the 4, 5, or 6 Lexington Ave. trains to 125th Street, then transfer on the NW corner of 125th Street and Lexington Avenue for the M35 bus to Randall’s and Wards Island.

By Car: (please note, there is a toll when entering the island)

From Manhattan: Take the Triborough Bridge to Randall’s and Wards Island Park. Immediately after the toll, stay left and follow exit sign to Randall’s and Wards Island.

From Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens: Take the FDR Drive North to the Triborough Bridge exit (on right). Stay right up to and after the toll, following the signs to Randall’s and Wards Island.

From the Bronx: Take the Major Deegan or Bruckner Expressway to the Triborough Bridge onto Randall’s Island (stay right on Bridge). Stay right after toll and follow signs to Randall’s and Wards Island.

From New Jersey: Take I-80 or NJ Turnpike, exit 18-A to the George Washington Bridge. On the bridge, follow signs that say “Through Traffic” (on the upper level, you will want to stay to the left, on the lower-level, stay to the right). This will lead you directly onto the Cross Bronx Expressway. Then, take the Harlem River Drive/Amsterdam Avenue exit and keep left at the fork in the ramp. Merge onto Harlem River Drive and stay straight to go onto FDR Drive South. Follow FDR South to the Tri-Boro Bridge. Go through the toll booth and immediately go LEFT to exit for Randall’s and Wards Island.

By Foot: You can walk across the footbridge from E. 103rd Street in Manhattan onto Randall’s and Wards Island Park during summer daylight hours. Pedestrians can also walk across on the Triborough Bridge from Manhattan, Queens, or the Bronx.

John Dewey High School is located in the Coney Island area of south Brooklyn. It is situated at the intersection of Stillwell and Harway Avenues and Avenue X.

  By Car
·  Using the Belt Parkway:Westbound, from the Kennedy Airport area, use Exit #6, Stillwell/Cropsey Avenues. Bear right at the exit toward Stillwell Avenue. Proceed to the traffic light, make a left turn, continue to the first traffic signal., Avenue X, and make a right turn. The entrance to the parking lot is on the right side of the street (next to the construction site), or you may park on the street.
·  Eastbound, from the Brooklyn Bridge area, use Exit #6, Cropsey Avenue. Proceed to the traffic light and make a left turn. Go to the second traffic light, Bay 49 Street and make a right turn. Proceed to the second stop sign, Stillwell Avenue, and make a right turn. At the first traffic signal, Avenue X, make a left turn. The entrance to the parking lot is on the right side of the street (next to the construction site), or you may park on the street.

By Train
John Dewey High School is situated at the  Bay 50th Street stop on the  "D" line. You may reach it directly by using the "D" train or you may take any other train that terminates at the Stillwell Avenue Depot in Coney Island and change for the Manhattan-Bound "D" train, riding it for one station to Bay 50th Street.

By Bus
The closest bus line is the  B-64 which travels along  Bath and Harway Avenues. It may be accessed by any line that intersects its route.

From the George Washington Bridge:
Take I-80 West for approximately 15 miles to exit 53 (Route 23 North, Butler). Take Route 23 North for approximately 10 miles to Boonton Avenue. (You need to make a left here but in NJ you cannot make a left turn off State Highways so you need to travel past Boonton Avenue to the turn around a few hundred feet forward. Go to the turn around and make a right on Boonton Avenue.) After turning right on Boonton Avenue stay at left at fork in the road and continue to drive for approximately 3 miles. The entrance to the field is on the right hand side. You will see a red, white & blue sign that says Croatian Land. Go to the left down the hill and the field is next to the lake.

From Manhattan
East Side
FDR Drive to Willis Avenue Bridge (or Triborough Bridge) to Bruckner Expressway. Route 278 becomes I-95N (New England Thruway) Proceed on I-95N to New Rochelle, The Pelhams exit (exit 15). At the end of the exit ramp, make a left onto Boston Post Road. Proceed on Boston Post Road for 4 traffic lights, then turn left onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

West Side
West Side Highway to I-95N, Cross Bronx Expressway. Proceed on I95N Cross Bronx Expressway through Bruckner Interchange to I95N (New England Thruway). Proceed on I95N to New Rochelle, The Pelhams exit (exit 15). At the end of the exit ramp, make a left onto Boston Post Road. Proceed on Boston Post Road for 4 traffic lights, then turn left onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

By Train
From Grand Central Station, take Metro North's New Haven Line to Pelham Station. Taxi service is located at the station for service to Travers Island.

From Long Island
Throgs Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge to I-95N. Proceed on I95N to New Rochelle, The Pelhams exit (exit 15). At the end of the exit ramp, make a left onto Boston Post Road. Proceed on Boston Post Road for 4 traffic lights, then turn left onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

From New Jersey
George Washington bridge to I-95N, Cross Bronx Expressway. Proceed on I95N Cross Bronx Expressway through Bruckner Interchange to I95N (New England Thruway). Proceed on I95N to New Rochelle, The Pelhams exit (exit 15). At the end of the exit ramp, make a left onto Boston Post Road. From the Tappan Zee Bridge
Tappan Zee Bridge to Exit 8-Route 287E. Proceed on 287E to the Hutchinson River Parkway South. Proceed on the Hutchinson River Parkway South/Whitestone Bridge South to exit 8 (Sanford Boulevard). Make a right at the end of the exit ramp and at the second traffic light make a right onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

From Connecticut
Via I-95 South

Take I95S to New Rochelle, The Pelhams exit (exit 15). At the end of the exit ramp, bear right onto Boston Post Road. Proceed on Boston Post Road for 3 traffic lights, then turn left onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

Via the Merritt Parkway
Take the Merritt Parkway south. The Merritt Parkway becomes the Hutchinson River Parkway South. Proceed on the Hutchinson River Parkway South/Whitestone Bridge South to exit 8 (Sanford Boulevard). Make a right at the end of the exit ramp and at the second traffic light make a right onto Pelhamdale Avenue. Proceed to the end of Pelhamdale Avenue and make a right onto Shore Road. At the blinking light, make a left into the Travers Island entrance.

From NYC: Whitestone Bridge to the Hutchinson River Parkway to Orchard Beach Exit. Go straight to large traffic circle, go around the circle and follow the sign to Shore Road North. Entrance is 1 mile past Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course.

From NYC: Belt Parkway to Exit 5 then continue on the southern side service road to park on right hand side past Nellie Bly Amusement Park.

From Long Island: take Belt Parkway West Exit 6N Cropsey Avenue North. Continue on Cropsey Avenue N to 26th Avenue. Make a left on to 26th Avenue, go 2 blocks & pass under the Belt Parkway. Make a left (U-Turn). Drive about 100 yards and look for the entrance gate on your left.
